Oh, The Open Road

I have been blessed with one whole moon in New Jersey. As I watch it wax full two weeks after the Equinox, my heart fills with all the joy and laughter shared with family and friends, young (growing tall!) and old. I spent my time here walking the paths of my past, feeling much different yet somehow the same. The land greeted me in the end of summer, lush and green from the abundance of rain, which continued for the duration of my visit. In the days before my departure the sun finally shines bright, the rivers begin to recede, and all are hopeful for a gentle autumn. My gratitude overwhelms me, for now is my favorite time of year to spend in the rolling hills of the east. Warm days, brisk nights, rodents scurrying about, hardwood leaves changing the landscape and birds taking to their seasonal flight. My eyes glisten with the golden evening’s rays pouring across the fields of corn and grain, the strength of the forest heightened by the lengthened shadows. I attempt to focus on the individual colors in the sky, but never quite able to find any separation. I suppose it’s part of the journey, that feeling of unsure knowing. It is bittersweet to leave so much love, but the open road awaits me again. It is time for change, for growth and renewal. One can only achieve greatness by breaking free from one’s comfort zone, by pushing one’s limits to find the Truth which lies within. Although I must go and find myself again, as a stranger this time, in places I have never been I send you all my love and gratitude. Please know that I carry each one of you in my heart as my journey continues…
